The epitome of romantic ballet, Giselle is a wrenchingly poignant tale of unrequited love, remorse, and forgiveness. Many ballerinas have danced the devilishly difficult title role, but few have attained the combination of luminous elegance, rock-solid technique and dramatic skill personified by prima ballerina Nina Ananiashvili.


Ananiashvili and the Tbilisi-based National Ballet of Georgia returned to Spoleto Festival USA in a sumptuous staging of Giselle, accompanied by the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra.


Nina Ananiashvili will be performing Friday, June 11 at 7pm and Saturday, June 12 at 8pm.
