Norma Winstone Trio
College of Charleston Cistern Yard
" There is no jazz singer in the country to touch her."
- The Times (London)
A legend among jazz musicians, British singer Norma Winstone has been a forerunner in the art of jazz singing since the 1970s, weaving her voice through music with imagination and beauty. She is now “at the peak of her form” (The Times) and may have found the trio of her life in Italian pianist Glauco Venier and German reedman Klaus Gesing. Their current release, Distances, has earned both a Grammy nomination in the U.S. and the Académie du Jazz prize in Paris.
